The Yachtsman is a family owned care home registered for 32 specialising in care for the elderly and residents with dementia
We are looking for an experienced Domestic Assistant preferably with previous experience in a care home to work with the housekeeping team in our care home. With support from the Head Housekeeper, you will have a commitment to quality along with a genuine interest in our client group.
Your duties will include working as part of the domestic team to ensure that the home is clean, pleasant and safe for residents throughout the home. Ensuring that cleaning products are used effectively, with instructions and health and safety procedures being followed at all times. Ensuring you work within the team respecting residents clothing and property whilst performing your duties.
Required knowledge & experience:

· Previous cleaning experience and knowledge is desirable.
· Use of cleaning products in a safe manner.
· Knowledge of cleaning procedures including use of equipment e.g. carpet cleaners.
· Health & safety in the workplace including Control of Substances Harmful to Health (COSHH), Infection Control, reporting and recording.
· Able to work as part of a team
You will have empathy and be approachable and flexible in your duties according to customer needs. The Housekeeping team are key figures in our home to whom residents and visitors will turn for information.
Our home is located on the promenade in Fleetwood and provides 24-hour residential, and dementia care for up to 32 elderly residents. We are committed to providing a homely and safe, sustainable environment in which Service Users and Staff achieve their optimum state of health and wellbeing.
Shift times: Various between 8am and 3pm, 30 hours per week
