UK Payroll Administrator

The Role And Responsibilities

Due to the expansion of our Mainfreight network, the UK National Support Team is looking for an ambitious Payroll administrator. You will work full-time for the Air & Ocean and Warehouse products based in our office in Coalville.

You will become part of our UK national support team and grow into a role managing all of our payroll operations such as salary administration, reporting, filing pension and wages declarations. In this role you have continuous contact with our operations to resolve various employee related issues. You will be a trusted partner to our teams at the real core of our business. You will maintain the in-house payroll process, ensuring a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail for our weekly payroll processing. You will work closely with the UK Finance Controller and Tax Consultants to be compliant with the latest tax authority requirements and execute weekly and monthly payroll rounds. You will be expected to complete month-end closings in accordance with group requirements.

Our Team

Mainfreight Europe has 45 branches across 10 countries. This creates a dynamic environment with the need to think globally and act within local environment. The role is based in Coalville where we have four UK Mainfreight branches - two in London, one in Manchester and one warehouse facility in Coalville. The growing UK Support team currently have 2 young and result driven team members who are based throughout the UK.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • Qualifications in salary administration, business administration or similar
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility, are hands on, flexible, strong drive/passion, analytical skills, independent
  • You have an attention to detail
  • You have proven affinity with numbers, payroll systems and UK “remuneration/tax/employment”” legislation
  • You have an excellent command of the English language
  • Live in or around Coalville area
  • Prior experience within a multinational company would be beneficial
