Employee Relations Advisor - 18-Month FTC

We are seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join our HR team on an 18-month FTC. As a key member of the ER/IR team you will play a crucial role in supporting and executing the effective development and relationship with the recognised Trade Unions.

You will achieve business and customer objectives through provision of professional advice and guidance to Line Managers.

The successful candidate would cover a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

  • Manage the procedural agreements and assist in development of revised policies and procedures that comply with employment legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with all Cross Country collective agreements and when necessary challenge the norms.
  • Maintain a current working relationship with the recognised Trade Unions and representatives at all levels
  • Manage the absenteeism, attendance discipline and grievance issues within the organisation and contribute to the effective operation of the organisation.
  • Understand, review, interpret and act as a knowledge base for prescribed terms and conditions of grade groups.
  • Support the line in areas across recruitment termination and application of Group Standards relevant to the Occupational Health Contractual arrangements.
  • Production of monthly data for HR Report in terms of discipline and grievance.
  • Management of specified Company Council representatives including secretarial role.
  • Management of reorganisations and working practice reviews as necessary.
  • Professional support and guidance to line Managers.
  • Application of terms and conditions of employment and policies and procedures
You will be required to demonstrate:

  • Strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs
  • Significant Industrial Relations (IR) and ER experience within a large multisite complex unionised organisation
  • Relevant qualification or minimum 3-5 years experience to demonstrate level of competence
  • Excellent relationship building skills demonstrated through proven experience of working in partnership with directors and senior business leaders
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice solutions
  • Ability to establish professional credibility quickly
  • Excellent communication skills and able to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation
  • Passion for delivering customer service with ability to articulate previous achievements through business deliverables
  • Experience of managing large scale, complex change or transformation programmes e.g. Organisation Re-design, TUPE, redundancy programmes, etc
